Pastor Matt and a Children’s Sermon
First Lutheran Church is kid-friendly. We seek to nourish the faith of children through uplifting and vibrant ministry. Each 10:30 a.m. worship service offers a children’s sermon where kids are able to take “The Box” home with them and put something meaningful in the box to share the following Sunday morning during the Children’s Sermon.
Sunday School (or “Sunday’s Cool” if that’s what you’d like to call it) starts following the children’s sermon where the kids are able to explore, learn and grow. Kids are welcomed back into the sanctuary during Communion to receive Holy Communion or a blessing. The church provides a staffed nursery during the 9:30 a.m. worship service as well.
Wednesday evenings, 6-8 p.m., are active and energizing for children of God of all ages. We call Wednesday nights “Light Night” and we always begin with a meal at 6 p.m. Children are invited to join their age appropriate groups following dinner to engage in active learning and faith-growing exercises, fun and friendship. Safe nursery care is provided during each Wednesday evening (6:30-8 p.m.) as well.
