Church Mission Statement:
As a part of God's Family, First Lutheran Church is called to enthusiastically share God's Word and gifts with everyone.  Our commitment is to serve and love God in worship, and to show love and forgiveness in addressing the needs of people.

Sharing our love at home and overseas, ladies sewing quilts and prayer shawls.

THIRD TUESDAY evening each month will find the prayer shawl group meeting to prayerfully create shawls to be given to those in need of loving comfort.  More than three dozen shawls have been shared with those in need of healing, prayer, comfort or commemorating the gifts of love, friendship and caring. Above is a small sample of the shawls dedicated and blessed in April, 2008.

Displaying part of the 57 quilts they sewed during the past year are from the left: Geneva Buchanan, Ruth Williams, Emily Renock, Patty Rice Groth and Joann Smith.  The quilts were blessed Sunday, Oct. 7 before being boxed to send to Lutheran World Relief.  We are proud of what this small group has accomplished and pray the quilts will provide the warmth that was lovingly sewn into them.

Everyone in the congregation laid their hands on the quilts that were displayed throughout the sanctuary as they were blessed with prayers by Pastor Matt.
