Pastor Mark Bogen
Pastor Mark was born and grew up in Hendricks, Minnesota, a small farming community in the southwest corner of the state. He went to college at Golden Valley Lutheran and Augsburg Colleges in Minneapolis, and then to Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, graduating in 1980.
Ordained on September 27, 1981, he has served congregations in Western North Dakota (1981-1988), Pittsburgh, PA (1988-1991) Wisconsin (1991-1995) and Ohio (1995 – current). Here in Ohio, he served as Associate Pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk from 1995 – 2012, and since 2012 have completed serving six interim assignments.
He is married to Marcy Burns, who is a fifth grade teacher for Norwalk City Schools. One of Marcy’s significant avocational activities is playing bagpipes with the Cleveland 87th Pipe Band. Their son, Erik, is a geotechnical engineer, and works for a engineering firm in Cleveland while daughter Sarah, is a research associate at Battelle Center for Mathematical Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. In his spare time he enjoys reading, walking, running, and skiing when there’s enough snow.
